Cadillac has finally granted the 2024 XT4 SUV a much-needed update as it marks its sixth year of existence. The vehicle’s front section has undergone a significant revamp, featuring a fresh grille design and striking vertical running lights that resemble those on other Cadillac models. The modifications to the rear are relatively minor, as the reflectors have been relocated and the rear bumper reshaped by Cadillac.
The interior of the XT4 has undergone significant changes, most notably, the installation of a 33-inch curved LED touchscreen display that extends from the driver’s dashboard to the edge of the passenger side dashboard. This impressive feature has been borrowed directly from the Lyriq and comes with Cadillac’s most recent infotainment interface, which is built on Google’s Android Automotive software.
In addition to this, the XT4 also comes with wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The vehicle also offers an optional 13-speaker AKG stereo system that will satisfy tech enthusiasts and audiophiles. Moreover, the XT4’s onboard Wi-Fi hotspot has been upgraded to 5G, providing users with faster internet connectivity.
The 2024 XT4 comes with a brand-new lineup of 18- and 20-inch wheel designs, accompanied by three new exterior paint options, including Emerald Lake Metallic, Midnight Sky Metallic, and Deep Sea Metallic. The interior styling changes based on the selected trim level, with the Luxury trim featuring piano-black plastics, while the Premium Luxury and Sport trims come with carbon fiber, wood, or aluminum options.
Although the 2024 XT4 features a fresh exterior, it maintains the same mechanical components as its predecessor. The turbocharged four-cylinder engine still produces 235 horsepower, and it still pairs with the same nine-speed automatic transmission and front- or all-wheel-drive systems. However, the 2019 XT4 Sport demonstrated slow acceleration, taking 7.8 seconds to reach 60 mph during an acceleration test, making it slower than its class competitors, such as the BMW X1 or Mercedes-Benz GLB250.
Pricing details for the 2024 XT4 have not been disclosed by Cadillac yet, but it’s anticipated that there will be a slight increase from the current model. The Luxury trim is expected to start around $38,000, while the top two trims are likely to start at around the $42,000 mark. The new XT4 will be available for purchase in the summer of 2024, with production taking place at GM’s Fairfax Assembly facility in Kansas.
