Remember announcement we made six months back about the Maserati MC20 convertible? Well, the Italian luxury automaker has officially taken off cloud camouflage livery and given us official details on the specs, features, and more.
Officially named MC20 Cielo, which is Italian for the word “sky”, the name seem to match the car just perfectly as it gives occupants a full view of the sky whether the roof is up or down – thanks to its retractable glass-top. The car features an automated roof that is made from electrochromic glass which means the level of transparency can be changed in an instant with a touch of a button. The roof can be operated via the central screen and takes just 12 seconds to drop the top of the car.
Under the hood, just like the coupe, the MC20 Cielo is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine which churns out 621 hp and 538 lb-ft of torque and it is capable of sprinting from 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds with a top speed around 200 mph.
The MC20 Cielo will hit the market as a 2023 model with a host of features like the active safety systems, a surround-view camera, traffic sign recognition, automatic emergency braking, and an optional Sonus Faber audio system that comes with 12 speakers and was designed to automatically adjust its acoustics. Pricing will start at roughly $212,000 USD.
