Hyundai is gearing up to launch the IONIQ 5 N, its first fully-electric high-performance car, in 2023. The South Korean automaker has now premiered two new concepts, the N Vision 74 and RN22E under its high-performance N line.
The “rolling labs” concepts demonstrate the automaker’s ambition to become a leader in zero-emission technologies and manifest Hyundai N’s high-performance vision of electrification. The Hyundai N line was launched in 2015 developed around motorsports, and its first production road car, the Hyundai i30 N, hit the market in 2017.
The DMC DeLorean-reminiscent N Vision 74 is a hydrogen fuel cell hybrid that pays homage to the Hyundai Pony Coupe concept from 1974 designed by Giorgetto Guigiaro. The RN22e on the other hand, optimizes Hyundai’s signature Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) which is housed in a streamlined exterior based on its recently revealed IONIQ 6 EV.
The concepts are still undergoing tests by Hyundai’s engineers, hence the N Vision 74 and RN22e have not yet been confirmed for commercial production. Check out the video above and stay tuned for more information.
