Dodge has officially revealed that the iconic Charger will be going electric, and we’ve been given a first look at what the future has in store regarding American muscle cars.
The fully-electric Dodge Charger Daytona SRT “Banshee” Concept has been revealed. The car will be powered by an 800V electric all-wheel drive propulsion system, offering a higher level of performance than Dodge’s other signature offerings, including the Hellcat.
The inaugural electric Charger features an eRupt transmission which delivers smooth transitions that give a similar jerking feeling to shifting gears, a “push-to-pass” button for a quick power boost, and a new R-Wing design for increased aerodynamic efficiency.
The car also features a controversial loud Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, which produces up to 126dB of sound, similar to the Hellcat, despite being completely electric. Dodge will be the first ever to introduce this, and there is a possibility of this becoming a thing shortly. The interior features include modern styling with a panoramic glass roof, lightweight bucket seats, and a large center screen.
